ASAP is currently accepting applications for Fall 2017 legal internships. (ASAP is no longer seeking Spring and Summer 2017 legal interns.) If you would like to apply, please send a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Legal interns will assist in all aspects of client representation, including legal research, factual investigation, and the drafting of memoranda and briefs. In addition, interns will prepare public education materials, engage in policy research, and support ASAP's mass-texting and Facebook programs, which provide thousands of refugee families with basic legal information.
Legal interns must be currently enrolled in law school and pursuing a U.S. law degree. Please note that a high degree of Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred, and interviews may be conducted in Spanish.
Legal interns are welcome to work in the Urban Justice Center's New York office or remotely. While internships are unpaid, ASAP is happy to support legal interns in their efforts to receive school credit and/or outside funding.
