ASAP is currently accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2018 legal internships. If you would like to apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and writing sample (if available) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Legal interns will assist in all aspects of client representation, including legal research, factual investigation, and the drafting of memoranda and briefs. In addition, interns will prepare public education materials and support ASAP's private online community, which provides thousands of refugee families with basic legal information and emergency support.
Legal interns must be currently enrolled in law school and pursuing a U.S. law degree. Please note that a high degree of Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred, and a portion of interviews may be conducted in Spanish.
Legal interns are welcome to work in the Urban Justice Center's New York office, ASAP's New Haven office, or remotely. While internships are unpaid, ASAP is happy to support legal interns in their efforts to receive school credit and/or outside funding.
